1. About the platform
Opinion Polls Kenya provides public political opinion polls, candidate information, political content and related services. The platform is independent and is not an official election system or an IEBC service.
2. Poll participation
Each eligible phone number may record one successful response within the scope of a particular poll. The platform may normalize equivalent Kenyan phone-number formats to enforce this rule.
A response is recorded only after the required transaction is successfully confirmed where a participation fee applies. Failed, cancelled or reversed payments do not create a valid vote.
3. Payments and Results access
Poll participation and view-only Results access may carry the prices shown on the relevant poll. Payments are processed through supported mobile-money/payment providers.
A successful vote includes Results access for that poll. View-only Results access may be time-limited according to the poll configuration. Eligible access is remembered automatically on the browser/device used for the successful transaction through a secure server-verified token. Clearing browser cookies/site data or using another browser/device may prevent automatic recognition.
Where a transaction has been duplicated, charged incorrectly or not delivered as expected, contact support with the available payment details for review. Refunds or reversals are handled according to the circumstances of the transaction and applicable law.
4. Trusted-browser Results access
After a successful vote or Results purchase, the platform may place an opaque secure cookie in that browser so eligible Results can reopen automatically. The cookie does not contain your phone number, vote choice or payment details.
Automatic recognition is specific to browser storage. Clearing site data, using private/incognito browsing, switching browsers or moving to another device may remove that recognition.
5. Candidate submissions
Candidate registrations and nominations are subject to administrative review. Submission does not guarantee publication, endorsement or inclusion in any poll.
You must provide information that you reasonably believe is accurate and must not impersonate another person, knowingly submit false material or upload content you do not have permission to use.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to manipulate poll results, bypass participation limits or interfere with platform security.
- Do not use automated systems to overload, scrape or disrupt the service in a manner that harms availability or other users.
- Do not submit unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, malicious or rights-infringing content.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to administrative, payment or private user information.
7. Availability and changes
We may update, suspend or withdraw features, polls or content where necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, accuracy or platform operations. Live Results may change as additional valid responses are recorded.
8. Intellectual property
The platform design, software, branding and original editorial content are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Candidate names, logos, photographs and third-party material remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.
9. Limitation of responsibility
Opinion data, candidate information and political content are provided for public information and participation. Users remain responsible for how they interpret or rely on platform content. Nothing on the platform constitutes an official election declaration, legal advice, financial advice or endorsement of a candidate.
