Essential session cookies
The platform uses a session cookie to maintain secure interaction between your browser and the website. It supports functions such as CSRF protection, admin authentication and payment-flow continuity.
The session cookie is configured with security protections including HttpOnly and SameSite controls, and Secure mode is used when the site is served over HTTPS.
Trusted-browser Results access
After a successful vote or Results viewing-pass purchase, the platform stores a random opaque trusted-browser cookie so eligible Results can reopen automatically on that browser/device. The browser cookie contains no phone number, vote choice or payment details; the corresponding token is stored server-side only in hashed form.
The trusted-browser cookie is refreshed while it remains valid. View-only access still expires according to the poll configuration, while access included with a successful vote follows the underlying valid vote.
Analytics and advertising
The current core platform does not require non-essential advertising cookies to operate. If optional analytics, advertising or similar technologies that require consent are introduced, this policy and the relevant consent controls should be updated before those technologies are enabled.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent secure forms, authentication or payment status tracking from working correctly. Deleting the trusted-browser cookie means the platform can no longer automatically recognize previous Results access on that browser.
