About Hon. Karen Nyamu
Karen Njeri Nyamu is a Kenyan lawyer, politician and public servant currently serving as a nominated Senator in the Senate of Kenya under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). She joined the 13th Parliament following the 2022 General Election and has become one of the country’s most visible political figures.
A lawyer by profession, Nyamu holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi and later trained at the Kenya School of Law. She is also associated with Njeri Nyamu & Co. Advocates and has combined her legal background with a career in politics and public administration.
Nyamu first attracted significant political attention when she contested the Nairobi Woman Representative seat in 2017. Since joining the Senate, she has participated in legislative and oversight work touching on issues affecting Nairobi residents, governance and emerging areas such as artificial intelligence regulation.
