About Hon. Esther Passaris
Esther Muthoni Passaris is a Kenyan politician, entrepreneur, philanthropist and women’s rights advocate serving as the Nairobi City County Woman Representative in the National Assembly. She was first elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2022 on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket.
Before entering elective politics, Passaris built a successful career in business and social entrepreneurship. She is the founder of Adopt-A-Light Limited, an initiative associated with improving urban lighting and outdoor advertising in Nairobi, and has also held senior roles in marketing and business management.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration from United States International University-Africa and has also pursued legal and executive business studies. Her public service has focused on issues including women’s empowerment, health, transport, the environment and social development.
